The Welsh Government is committed to raising standards in education and ensuring all learners succeed and do well in school.
Every school receives additional grant funding each year to support improvement in Literacy and Numeracy.
A separate grant is awarded to schools to support pupils in receipt of Free School Meals. This grant, known as the Pupil Deprivation Grant (PDG) enables schools to access additional funds to support resources to improve attainment of these groups of learners.
The total number of pupils on school roll for September 2016 is 205.
The school's e-FSM population is under 10%. This is less than the population for the previous year.
The total allocation of PDG to this school for September 2016 to March 2017 is £8,400.
The school undertakes activities in order to support pupils facing the challenges of poverty and deprivation. This year the grant is being used to provide additional resources to support literacy and numeracy. These incorporate skills of speaking and listening; through presenting and questionning, reading skills; through comprehension and research and collection of evidence from different sources and writing skills; through opportunities to write for different purposes incorporating multimedia and numeracy; through procedural number and application of skills into real life situations and problem-solving activities..
The school's PDG plans are monitored by the Governing Body, supported by advice from the EAS and the Local Authority.
