We are committed to becoming an anti-racist organisation and our curriculum and ethos provide opportunities for learners to talk about and celebrate the richness of our diverse world and cutlure.

As part of the Monmouth Cluster of schools, we have developed a strategy to support this.

At Osbaston, we have identified key actions this year to support this:

• All class libraries show a range of books displaying diversity and inclusivity
• Displays in school reflect diverse nature of society
• Unit of work based upon self and cynefin provides opportunities for all learners to consider diversity and being respectful to all
• Facilitate workshops/ visitors to school to talk to learners about racism/ diversity and prejudice
• Wellbeing and relationship teaching and learning supports development of empathy and how to challenge stereotype
• Further develop partnership working with global communities and neighbours through Fairtrade, St Lucy’s Kenya
• Provide pencils and paint colours to enable learners to use skin tones in artwork
• Further enhance Lower School classrooms with global majority resources
• Expressive arts plans provide study of art/ music/ dance linked to global majority artists
• Link values worship to anti racism through themes of respect, compassion, responsibility, justice
• Review Rights Respect Equality data log to identify if there are trends and ensure programme of learning and mentoring
