At Osbaston we are proud of our Welsh language, culture and identity and positive promote the use of Welsh as much as possible.
From their very first day in school, pupils will be hearing Welsh and learning new words and phrases. This will become part of their every day life at shcool and they will acquire new language patterns quickly.
Oracy is the most important part of our language teaching. Through fun games and activities, pupils will be exposed to new words and phrases. They will use these over and over again and their repertoire will grow.
Do not worry you do not know or understand Welsh. Ask your chid to be the teacher and helkp you with some new words. Also use Welsh at home when you can- 'diolch' - thank you, or 'croeso'- you're welcome are really easy words to start!
We hold regular engagement events for parents to help you help at home. These are fund sessions where our learners teach you some new words in the way our pupils learn. Come and join us for these when you can!
